What it's for
Every tool controls the past; forecasting is what changes the decision. Here you see the DIRECTION of the margin before it happens — and react months ahead (price, cost, contract mix).
Rules
Where the numbers come from
Base = linear trend (least squares) of the monthly series from the management DRE (net revenue and total cost over the last 12 months). Per contract: trend of the contract's monthly revenue + historical margin from the Profitability engine. Nothing is made up.
Scenarios and assumptions
Optimistic and pessimistic apply the percentage deltas that YOU define over the trend (e.g., +10% revenue / −5% cost). Adjust the assumptions and recalculate — the scenario is yours, the engine just does the math.
Projection is an assumption, not a promise
The linear trend doesn't know about new contracts, announced terminations, or seasonality. Use it together with the CRM funnel (what isn't a contract yet) and the what-if Scenarios (planned changes).
