Value Chain

The org chart shows WHO reports to whom. The value chain shows HOW work flows through the company until it becomes a delivery for the customer. This screen maps that path across 4 levels.

What it's for
Putting the big blocks of work (macro-processes) on paper and detailing them down to the activity level, with an OWNER per process. It's the layer that was missing between strategy (what we want) and operations (what we do every day).

Rules

The 4 levels and the code
Macro-process (level 1) → Process (2) → Sub-process (3) → Activity (4). The code (1 · 1.01 · 1.01.01) is automatic and follows the tree: moving a process renumbers it and everything below it. You don't type the code.
The 3 bands
Managerial (management): runs the company — planning, measuring, correcting. Finalistic (primary): serves the client and brings in money. Support: sustains those who deliver — people, money, IT, purchasing. Children always inherit the macro-process's band.
A process without an owner doesn't improve
The process owner is the one who is accountable for the RESULT end-to-end, even if the process crosses several areas. The "Macro without owner" counter at the top is gap #1 tracked in the synchronization panel — start with it.

Frequently asked questions

Start with the factory template
Choose the template for your type of business and click Apply template: the typical chain is created, ready for you to rename and delete what you don't use. It's additive — applying it again doesn't duplicate anything, it only completes what's missing.
