Two dimensions
Each segment is positioned by two measures: attractiveness (the segment's % growth — how much its market is moving) and profitability (the % margin it leaves you today). The crossing of the two defines the quadrant and the suggested action. Register the segment with the two scores at the top; edit it later in the table below — the value saves when you leave the field and the quadrant recalculates instantly.
Para que esta tela existe
Positions segments by attractiveness × profitability and suggests an action: invest, improve margin, harvest or review. — this is the role of the "Segmentation" screen within the platform.
How to
Atratividade e rentabilidade: onde buscar os números
Attractiveness is the segment's annual growth in % — market rate or the growth of your own revenue in it, as long as the criterion is the same for all segments. Profitability is the % margin the segment leaves you — contribution margin is the most honest reading, because a segment that bills a lot with thin margin is exactly what the matrix wants to expose. A uniform criterion matters more than decimal precision: the matrix compares, it does not audit.
Rules
The 4 quadrants
Invest (grows and yields margin), Improve margin (grows but low profitability), Harvest (profitable but stable), Review or exit (low/low). Dividers are relative to the average of your segments.
As linhas divisórias são relativas à SUA média
The cut between quadrants is not a universal number: the dividing lines are relative to the average of your own segments, as the screen's footer states. This means the quadrants are recalculated when you add or edit segments — an "Invest" segment can become "Harvest" when a more attractive internal competitor comes in. Compare segments with each other, not against an external standard.
Frequently asked questions
Next step
With the segments positioned, act by quadrant: Invest (attractive and profitable) calls for commercial presence and capacity; Improve margin (grows but yields little) calls for price, mix or cost work before accelerating; Harvest/defend (profitable in a stable market) funds the bets; Review or exit frees up energy. This reading feeds into the personas and positioning conversation — who to target first and with what promise.
