Start here

Where the mill wins and where it loses
Each yarn sale in the period with its cost: the cost per kg comes from the lint mix of the lot sold plus shop-floor costs (energy, labour, overheads, freight). Group by count, customer or lot to see who pays the bill and who gives margin.

How to

Indexed pricing protects the margin
A long fixed-price contract carries all the lint and dollar risk. With indexed pricing, the base price is adjusted by the agreed weights — the indexed price list shows today’s price of each contract.

Rules

Where the cost per kg comes from
A sale with a lot uses the lint of that lot’s mix; without a lot, it uses the lint indicator of the sale date. Shop-floor costs are the same settings as the yarn cost. A lot without a mix is flagged — its cost is an estimate.

Frequently asked questions
