Each machine’s shift
Record per machine and shift: kg produced, hours run, idle spindles, end breaks and the stage waste. On the phone at the end of the shift, or from the spinning monitor CSV (Rieter, Uster, Trützschler), with a check before saving. The list becomes the floor dashboard: efficiency, breaks per 1,000 spindle-hours, idle spindles and yield.
How to
End breaks per 1,000 spindle-hours
A 1,008-spindle ring frame that ran 7.5 h with 190 breaks has 190 ÷ (1,008 × 7.5 ÷ 1,000) = 25 breaks per 1,000 spindle-hours — at the limit of the reference (20–30). Suddenly higher? Look at the laydown (short fibre, micronaire) before the machine.
Pull from monitor
With an active monitor connection, the "Pull from monitor" button fetches the last 7 days from the manufacturer’s server and shows them in the same review as the CSV. Check and confirm — only then is the log saved.
Rules
Cotton → yarn yield
Yield = kg of yarn produced at the ring frame (or winder) ÷ kg of cotton in the laydowns consumed in the period. Market reference: 85–90% carded and 67–75% combed (the comber removes noil on purpose). Each point below reference is paid cotton that became waste — the dashboard shows what it costs and how much comes back as by-product revenue.
Frequently asked questions
