The cotton lot and its bales
Each lot received keeps supplier, gin, crop, state, type and certification (ABR, Better Cotton, organic). The bales come in with the HVI report — typed, read by the camera or imported from the lab CSV (SBRHVI) with a check before saving.
How to
Micronaire category
Tenka puts each bale into a micronaire category (A < 3.5 · B 3.5–3.79 · C 3.8–4.19 · D 4.2–4.49 · E 4.5–4.99 · F ≥ 5.0). The laydown is built by category to keep fineness equal between lots — micronaire variation is the #1 cause of barré in the customer’s fabric.
Where the report lives in Brazil
In Brazil the per-bale HVI report is issued by the labs of Abrapa’s Standard Brasil HVI (SBRHVI) programme — 83% of the crop with transparent results, 17.4 million bales in 2024/25. The bale’s SAI code is the key to check the report at the source.
Rules
A bale without a report stays out of the laydown
A bale without micronaire does not enter the laydown: without the report fineness cannot be guaranteed. In the CSV import, a row without micronaire is refused and the check shows why. A bale with declared contamination is BLOCKED until quality releases it.
Frequently asked questions
Recebi o lote sem laudo HVI. Posso usar?
Pode receber e estocar, mas fardo sem laudo não entra na mistura — a regra existe para a qualidade do fio não depender de sorte. Lance os laudos por fardo (ou importe o arquivo do HVI) e o lote fica disponível.
