The contracted range
Every yarn has its specification: the HVI range the laydown must respect and the lab range the yarn must deliver (count, CVm, IPI, hairiness, RKM…). When a customer contracts a different range, register the line with the customer: it prevails for them.
How to
Specifying by percentile
Demanding customers specify by percentile: “CVm at the 25% percentile, hairiness at 50%”. Register the percentile scale for the count and use the requested percentile value as the maximum — the COA then says which percentile each lot landed on.

Who uses the specification
The laydown lights against the HVI_* ranges; the lab computes Cpk against minimum and maximum; the lot COA shows the contracted range next to the result. Without a specification the lab still shows the control chart and percentile — there is just no Cpk.
Frequently asked questions
Posso ter uma especificação diferente por cliente para o mesmo título?
Sim — e é o esperado: a especificação é por fio E por cliente. Na expedição, o laudo do lote é comparado à faixa daquele cliente; o mesmo lote pode atender um e não outro. Sem especificação por cliente vale a do fio.
