What a kg of yarn costs
The breakdown starts from cotton: average purchase position cost divided by the real yield of the last 90 days (if yield drops, each kg of yarn consumes more cotton). Add energy per kg from the energy cockpit, labour and overheads per kg (parameters), the cost of poor quality (failures ÷ kg produced) and, once a customer is chosen, the freight per kg of the cheapest route to them.
How to
Why yield matters
With cotton at R$10/kg, 87% yield gives R$11.49 of cotton per kg of yarn; dropping to 84% it becomes R$11.90 — R$0.41 more per kg, from waste alone. For a mill making 900 t of yarn a month that is R$369 thousand a month.
Margin sensitivity matrix
The matrix crosses lint −10%…+10% with dollar −10%…+10% and shows the yarn margin in each combination, on the reference selling price (setting FIACAO.PRECO_VENDA_KG; empty uses the suggested price). Below, the dollar that wipes out the margin with today’s lint.
Residual tax today × IBS/CBS
How much non-creditable tax stays in each kg of yarn: today (by the FIACAO.TRIB_RESIDUAL_* percentages on lint, energy, overheads and freight) and under the reform rule (FIACAO.TRIB_RESIDUAL_REFORMA). The percentages belong to the company — fill them with your accountant; the system does not assume a rate.

Rules
Suggested price from the target margin
Suggested price = cost per kg × (1 + target margin). The target margin is a company parameter (18% by default). A sales contract indexed to the cotton indicator uses the same breakdown: when cotton rises, cost and suggested price rise together.
Yield above 100%
If spinning-frame records add up to more yarn than the lint of the laydowns closed in the period, yield goes above 100% — which is impossible. The cost does not use that number: the benchmark yield from the FIACAO.RENDIMENTO_REF_CARDADO (or PENTEADO) parameter is used and the cost card turns yellow, showing the recorded value. Check that every laydown in the period was closed and that no record was entered twice.
Target markup is not margin
The suggested price uses the target MARKUP, applied on cost: price = cost × (1 + markup). "Margin on price, today" is a different calculation: (price − cost) ÷ price. That is why an 18% markup shows as about a 15% margin — not an error, two different yardsticks. The markup is the FIACAO.MARGEM_ALVO_PCT parameter.
Frequently asked questions
