Three questions in one calculation
Choose the style and the cell. Tenka returns how many people each operation needs, which is the bottleneck (the operation holding the line) and how many pieces per day the cell makes. With the daily target filled in, it works out the pace (takt) and the people needed; empty, it spreads the people the cell has.

Rules

Where the standard minute comes from
First from the approved time study (the average measured on the phone, marked ⏱); without a measurement, from the time in the tech sheet routing. Only internal steps count: the subcontracted step does not compete for the cell’s people.
Today’s absence is already out of the calculation
Anyone with an absence, sick note or holiday recorded for today does not count among the balancing people: capacity and operators per operation come out with who is in the cell, and the screen says how many are missing.
Actual minutes beat the standard
When the cell’s people have 20 or more records in an operation, balancing uses their actual minutes (average) instead of the time study and the tech-sheet standard. It also suggests who to put on the bottleneck: the person who knows the operation (level 2 or 3) and is fastest, with today’s capacity and the estimate with her.

Frequently asked questions

What "use as target" does
It saves the pieces per hour from the calculation as the cell’s target. That is the number visual management chases on the TV and that becomes each sewer’s daily target on the phone (the cell’s target divided by its people).
