What a lab dip is for
The lab dip is the customer's colour request: the target colour in L*a*b* (read from their swatch in daylight, store light and incandescent light), the Pantone reference or the physical swatch. The lab makes trials A, B, C and the system measures each one against the target.
How to
Metamerism: colour that shifts with the light
Each trial is read under three lights. If ΔE is good in daylight and bad in store light, the trial shows as "shifts with the light" — the case the customer sends back after hanging the garment in the shop.

The approved trial becomes a recipe
In the Approval tab, choose the trial and approve: the system asks for the customer's yes under every light the colour was read in, closes the lab dip and creates the production recipe with the target colour and the trial's lab recipe items. Nobody retypes.

Why doesn’t the lab dip approval go through?
Approval needs the customer’s yes under each light the color was read in. Tick "Customer approved" for every light of the chosen attempt and approve again.
