The design and the colour separation
Register the design (code, name, customer, article, process, repeat) and, in the Separation colours tab, each colour with its screen — flat or rotary, code and mesh —, the paste and the service life in metres.
How to
Digital print profile
On the Digital tab, name the profile (machine and fabric), choose direct or sublimation and fill in, per channel, the millilitres per metre and the ink from stock. Leave the price per ml empty to use the ink's average cost.
Link the tech-pack step to the ink
In "Tech-pack step that deducts ink", choose the routing step and the profile. From then on, reporting metres at that step of the production order takes the ink from the order's warehouse.
Rules
No approved strike-off, no printing
In the Strike-off and production tab, record the customer's answer to the proof. Production is only recorded with an approved strike-off; every metre uses up the life of all screens and the system warns at 90% and 100%.
How the digital print cost per metre is calculated
Sum of each channel (ml per metre × price per ml) + machine minutes per metre × cost per minute + paper per metre × paper cost, for sublimation.
Frequently asked questions
What if there is no ink in stock for digital printing?
The report is rejected with the stock message and nothing is saved: stock and order never disagree.
