Como funciona
Choose the SCREEN where the template appears (e.g. Proposals), write the text in the editor and insert the variables by clicking the palette — {{cliente}}, {{valorTotal}}, {{data_hoje}}. On that screen's record, the actions menu gains "Generate document": the system fills the variables with the record and delivers the PDF.

As variáveis são os campos da tela — nunca uma lista à parte
The palette shows exactly the dictionary fields of the chosen screen (the same as the form). A new field in the dictionary becomes a new variable without any programming. A variable the record does not have comes out blank in the document — {{chave}} never stays raw on the customer's paper.
Tipo classifica; a Tela decide onde aparece
PROPOSAL, CONTRACT, RECEIPT or REPORT only organize the list. What makes the template appear on a record is the Screen: a "receipt" linked to the Receipts screen appears on receipts; linked to Customers, it appears on the customer.

E o modelo de contrato que já existia?
It is still in Sales → Contract templates: it is the draft with fixed tokens ({{numero_contrato}}, {{valor_mensal}}…) and the contract record's own merge. This one is the generic one for any record. When the contract needs a variable the fixed token does not have, the path is to create the template here, linked to the Contracts screen.
