What this screen is for
Three movements the garment wholesaler makes every day that a regular sale does not describe: the retailer takes 40 pieces and settles what sold; the customer takes three to try; the rep takes the collection's sample line and returns it. Here you open, track and settle.
What is out of the house, at the top
The indicators at the top add up, by type, the pieces still out, how many shipments are open and how many are past the expected settlement (and the value, for those with See Values). Click an indicator to see only shipments of that type; the list below filters by type, status and dates and saves views.
How to
Open a shipment with its pieces
New (consignment) or the New approval and New sample buttons open the record. Fill in customer (or sales rep, for samples), warehouse and dates; in the Pieces tab, "Add piece" brings the price from the customer's price list on the shipment date. Saving opens the shipment and moves the stock to "Out of the house" in one go.
Rules
Opening
Pick the type, the customer (or the rep, for samples), the source warehouse and the pieces with the price — from the customer's list. On opening, stock moves from the source warehouse to the "Out of house (consignment)" warehouse: still yours, but not on the shelf.
Settling
Per piece, how much sold and how much came back. Sold leaves stock for good and becomes a receivable (cash or on the term you enter); returned goes back to the source warehouse. If pieces remain out, the consignment stays open for the next settlement.
Expected date and delay
Every exit has an expected settlement date. Past it and unsettled, it turns red in the list and counts as overdue on the panel and in Tenkai.
Settlement per piece, and what does not go to the recycle bin
On an open shipment the Pieces tab becomes the settlement: each piece's pencil says how many sold and how many came back (the sum cannot exceed what is out), or use All sold / All returned. Settle writes off what sold, returns the rest and creates the receivable with the chosen term. An open shipment does not go to the recycle bin: cancel it and the pieces return to the warehouse.
Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel?
Only an open consignment with no settlement: everything returns to the source warehouse. After the first settlement, the way is to settle the rest (returning everything, if so).
