The card is an account that closes once a month
Each purchase enters as a spend ON the card, with its category — nothing leaves the bank account at that moment. On the closing day the statement closes, freezes the total and becomes ONE payable in the bank account you chose, due on the card due date. You see the whole statement and, inside it, each purchase.
What the credit card is for
Here you register each credit card in the household: the limit, the day the bill closes, the day it is due and the account that pays it. With that, Tenka puts each card expense in the right bill and, at closing, creates the bill payable by itself.

How to

Closes on day and Due on day
Closes on day is the day of the month the bill closes: a purchase made up to that day goes into this month's bill; after it, into the next one. Due on day is the payment day. If the due day is earlier than the closing day, it falls in the following month.
Limit, Open spending and card ending
The Limit is the card's total. The record shows the Open spending (what has not been paid yet) and the Available limit, which is the limit minus that spending. Of the card number, keep only the Ending, the last four digits: the full number never goes into Tenka.

Rules

How Tenka decides which statement a purchase goes to
A purchase made up to and including the closing day enters the statement of that month; after that, the next month statement. The due date falls in the same month as the closing when the due day is greater than the closing day; otherwise, in the following month. Day 31 in a 30-day month becomes 30.
Three ways expenses come in
Manual: post an expense entry and choose the card. OFX: upload the file the issuer exports, on the card record — each purchase enters only once (the file identifier prevents repeats). Open Finance: with the credit account linked in the aggregator, "Sync" brings in the purchases of the last 60 days.
Do not post the whole statement as one expense
Posting "card statement R$ 3,000" as an expense hides where the money went and duplicates the individual purchases. Register the card and let the statement be born from the purchases.
Old statements close together
The "Close statements" button closes, from oldest to newest, every past-due statement that still has open spending — including spending entered with past dates. The available limit then reflects only the current statement and the forecast counts the statements.
Only I see it
In a Family account, tick “Only I see it” on the card so the account (or card) and its entries show only to you and the household owner. Unticked, it belongs to the household: every member sees it. The owner always sees everything — that is how consolidated net worth adds up. The shared month snapshot never includes private items.
Card bill without typing: CSV and e-mail
On the card, “Import CSV” reads the bill the bank exports (columns recognised by header: date, description and amount). To skip even downloading: fill in “Bill sender e-mail” and set up an inbox under Operations ▸ E-mail inboxes as “Card bill” — forward the bill to it and the purchases come in, categorised by the rules. Payments and refunds are not spending, and the same bill twice does not duplicate.
How expenses reach the card
Expenses come in three ways: entered by hand, through the Import bill (OFX) button with the file your bank exports, or through Sync via Open Finance, which brings the purchases of the last 60 days from the linked account. Importing or syncing again does not duplicate: each purchase is recognized by the bank's reference.

Frequently asked questions

I paid the statement. Where do I mark it?
Nowhere on the statement: settle the payable it generated, in the entries list or through the bank statement reconciliation. The card statement turns "paid" by itself. That is how the money leaves only once.
Why didn't the card bill close?
The bill closes on the Closes on day of each month, through the daily process. A card marked as inactive does not close bills nor shows up for new expenses, and a month with no expenses creates no bill: there is no payable of zero.
