The child’s piggy bank
The child logs in (Child profile) and sees the piggy bank balance, the goal of what they want to buy and the chores. They tick “done” and can ask for money. The parent picks the child, approves or declines in one tap, creates chores and credits the allowance.
Spend, save, give
The parent sets, per child, how each allowance and each paid chore is split across three jars: spend (free money), save (for the goal, which earns interest) and give (to help someone). The child sees each jar’s balance and, when asking for money, chooses which jar it comes from. A fixed allowance and paid extras coexist — research shows chore-only allowance has mixed effects.

Rules

How the balance is counted
An APPROVED chore and the allowance go into the piggy bank; an APPROVED money request comes out. Approving counts once — a second tap does not credit again. The goal shows how much of the amount the balance has reached.
Piggy bank interest and the question of the week
With interest set (for example, 2% a month), at the start of each month Tenka credits the save jar with interest on what stayed saved — once a month only. It is the compound-interest lesson the child sees happen. And every week the parent gets a question drawn from what happened: a purchase, a donation, a chore, the goal that is close. Parents talking about money is what research most links to adults with less financial anxiety.

Frequently asked questions

Can the child see the parents’ account?
No. The Child profile only sees the phone’s Home and the piggy bank — no accounts, cards, budget or entries. The money request lands in the bell of whoever manages the household’s access.
